Google Meet

In response to COVID-19, last spring Google expanded DePauw's subscription to provide for free some advanced Meet features that are typically available for an additional fee to Education customers. These premium features will expire at the end of September.

Beginning Thursday, October 1:

  • New recordings of Google Meet sessions will be temporary files that expire after 30 days
  • New meetings will be limited to 100 participants (down from 250)
  • Live-streaming for mass-viewing will no longer be available

Beginning January 2021:

  • Meet's recording feature will no longer be available

More details regarding the changes to Meet, and recommended options, may be found here.

Zoom

Zoom's available cloud-recording space for DePauw accounts is limited.

Beginning Thursday, October 1:

  • DePauw Zoom meeting cloud-recordings older than 45 days will be deleted from Zoom's servers.
  • To keep Zoom recordings long-term, you will need to copy them to your Google Drive.
More details regarding the changes to Zoom cloud-recordings, and recommended options, may be found here.
