Tech Prep for the Holiday Break

Before leaving for the holiday break, please remember to turn off and unplug all computers, printers, and other electronic equipment to help conserve energy.

Also, you will find below information on how to forward your calls to your cell phone or another number as well as how to set up a new mobile device in case you receive one as a gift during this holiday season.

Please contact the HelpDesk at (765) 658-4294 or HelpDesk@depauw.edu with any questions or concerns.

Best wishes for a happy and safe holiday season!

  3. Click the Forwarding tab
  4. Select Forward calls immediately
  5. For Forward calls to, enter the desired number exactly as you would dial it if you were calling it from your office phone (For example, you must first press a 7 on your office phone when making a call to someone off-campus so make sure you enter the 7 when setting up call forwarding to an off-campus phone number.)
  6. Click Apply
Setting up a new mobile device
If you receive a new phone (or another mobile device) over the holiday break, please keep in mind that your IT Accounts have 2-Step Authentication enabled, so you may find the following information useful:
  • DePauw Account
    • The IT KnowledgeBase step-by-step instructions for 2-Step Authentication will help you log into my.depauw.edu and Box only if you do not have your number set to automatically do something, such as send a text.
    • If you do have it set to do something automatically, you should use a different browser or Clear your Web browser’s cache in your current browser.
  • Google Apps Account
    • Be proactive by generating and downloading backup codes. In fact, having backup codes at the ready (e.g., printing and keeping them in a secure location like your wallet or billfold) is recommended in case you lose your phone or otherwise can’t get codes via text, voice call, or Google Authenticator
    • If you cannot sign in, follow the on-screen prompts at Account Recovery
