As you are going through your graduation to-do list, schedule time to preserve your email and other data from your DePauw IT accounts. In the following, you will learn the timeline for when your primary DePauw IT accounts will no longer be available to you, resources you can use to preserve email and other data, and information on services available to DePauw alumni.
DePauw IT Accounts access will retire on October 31, 2017
(Note: If you will be returning to DePauw in the Fall of 2017, please let us know at HelpDesk@depauw.edu so we can keep your accounts active.)
Be sure you save any documents you wish to keep from your class (I:) drive, personal (P:) drive, and Web (W:) drive before the end of October.
To request a transcript after October 31, browse to the transcript ordering portal on the Registrar’s Transcripts website.
Google Apps (email, calendar, drive, etc.)
Download a copy of the Google Apps data you want to keep, including your email, calendar, and more, by going into My Account → Control your content → Copy or move your content → Create archive found in the Download your data section. Once started, archives may take a few minutes, several hours, or days to create depending on how much data you have selected to download. Be sure to start this process before the middle of October so there is plenty of time for your archive to be completed. Watch the Download your Google Data [How to] video on YouTube to learn more.
Also, you will want to update your email contact information for personal accounts that you access through the Web. Retrieving a lost password or confirming your identity is often tied to an email address. Be sure to change any accounts that use your @depauw.edu address to a personal one, so you are not locked out of your bank account, credit cards, or other online accounts.
IT Recommendation Checklist and Resources
You can also find a helpful IT recommendation checklist that includes additional resources at Graduating Senior Accounts. These tips will guide you through setting up a personal email account, updating online account information (e.g., checking account, credit card, cell phone password recovery, etc.) so that you do not lose access to them after your DePauw IT accounts are retired, how you can let others know your new contact information, and more.
Stay connected with DePauw through social media, the Online Directory, and Alumni Community App
DePauw’s Office of Alumni Engagement provides opportunities to connect with DePauw and fellow alumni through social media, the Online Directory and the Alumni Community app by EverTrue. Through the Online Directory, you can update your contact information, as well as search for and connect with fellow DePauw alumni. If you have not set up your account yet, contact the Office of Alumni Engagement at email@example.com or (765) 658-2586 for your Activation Code.
You can also download the Alumni Community App. This app for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices allows you mobile access to the entire alumni directory and provides mapping functionality based on business address to search for classmates and fellow alumni anywhere in the world. This can be a great resource as you begin to establish yourself in a new city. There are a number of filters you can use to generate specific custom lists of alumni by categories such as industry, location, grad year, athletic and greek affiliation. Click here to download the app on your mobile device, or search for "Alumni Community" in the Apple App store or Google Play store. To learn more, visit depauw.edu/alumni/connect. You may also join thousands of other alumni who have liked our DePauw Alumni & Friends page on Facebook, follow our @DePauw_Alumni account on Twitter, and join the DePauw University Alumni Association group on LinkedIn.
Hoping that your final semester is all that you wish it to be!
