Email Phishing Scam Alert. DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT. #AnnounceIT

Information Services (I.S.) has received several reports of spam with a subject of "View Payment Details" hitting campus in which the recipient is asked to open an attachment for "confirmation of the payment". This is a malicious phishing scam -- Please do not open the attachment.

If you opened the attachment in the phishing email, we highly recommend you run a virus scan immediately. Please go to the Healthy Computing article on IT KnowledgeBase to learn how you can download and run Symantec Endpoint Protection on your computer.

If you received the email, we highly recommend you change your Google Apps Account password immediately as a precaution. Please go to the Change password: Google Apps Account (email) article on the IT KnowledgeBase for step-by-step instructions.
