Virus Alert. DO NOT CLICK LINK. DO NOT OPEN ATTACHMENTS. #AnnounceIT

Information Services (I.S.) has once again received several reports of email viruses hitting campus.

Our recommendations:
  1. NEVER click links or open attachments in suspicious emails.
  2. ALWAYS click the report spam button for suspicious emails.
If you have clicked a link in a suspicious email or tried to open an attachment, we highly recommend:
  1. You run a virus scan immediately. Please go to the Healthy Computing article on IT KnowledgeBase to learn how you can download and run Symantec Endpoint Protection, Malwarebytes, and SUPERAntiSpyware. The combination of these three programs is the safest way to protect your computer.
  2. You change your Google Apps Account password immediately. Please go to the Change password: Google Apps Account (email) article on the IT KnowledgeBase for step-by-step instructions.
Browse to the IT KnowledgeBase Spam article to learn more about DePauw's guidelines for official communications.

Please contact the HelpDesk at HelpDesk@depauw.edu or (765) 658-4294 with any questions or concerns.
