Remember to turn off your computers before leaving for the holidaybreak!

Dec. 17, 2010 From Facilities Management:

Campus Energy Reduction for the Holidays

Over the upcoming holiday period Facilities Management will once again be cutting back heating levels in campus buildings. To maximize energy savings during the extended holiday period, heat in most campus buildings will be reduced to approximately 60 degrees. As was the case last year, exceptions will be made to protect equipment, plants and animals as follows:

  1. Green Center for Performing Arts - will be maintained at 68 degrees
  2. Harrison Hall - heat will be maintained in areas housing small animals
  3. Olin Biological Sciences and Greenhouse - will not be turned down
  4. Lilly Center - heat will be maintained as needed to support scheduled athletic events
Building occupants with access to room thermostats are encouraged to set temperatures at 60 degrees when leaving for the holidays. Non-essential electrical devices should be turned off and unplugged when possible to reduce electrical consumption.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this important cost saving effort. Please direct any questions or concerns to Facilities Management at x4233.
