You may be aware that DePauw implemented the iPrint network printing tool several years ago. iPrint enables you to print from your personal computer or laptop to many of the public access printers throughout campus. iPrint is compatible with both Windows and Macintosh computers; however, Mac systems cannot print to Savin printers that require specific user codes.
Recently, the Network Services Group has been working to upgrade the various iPrint drivers. These updated print drivers provide some necessary system upgrades, additional security, and also facilitate more consistent naming. All of the new drivers can now be identified by looking for 'DPU' at the beginning of their names.
All old printer drivers will be removed from iPrint at the end of the Fall 2008 semester. This may require that you uninstall old drivers, and install new ones. When installing these drivers, we recommend using the Firefox internet browser, as this browser works best with iPrint.
The printers have been labeled with their new names to aid you in locating them at the http://print.depauw.edu web page. In addition, the type of printer and its location are displayed.
If you experience any issues, please contact the Helpdesk (x.4294, or email firstname.lastname@example.org) and describe the issue, such as: - the printer does not have a label - there is not a new 'DPU' printer to replace the one currently used - the new 'DPU' printer will not install due to insufficient access/rights
